KUCHING: The strong desire to succeed is a prerequisite to become a successful entrepreneur, Pantai Damai Assemblyman Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi told participants of a 3K Belia Bestari course.
Officiating at the closing of the course at Samadera Court in Jalan Nanas here yesterday, Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi stressed that personal skills and leadership qualities also contributed towards entrepreneuring success.
“We must have strong interest in business and the strong desire to be successful entrepreneurs.
We must also have the personal skills and leadership qualities,” he said.
“For example, if you want to venture into the tailoring business or the layer cake business you must have the niche market and your products must be different from the others. These are what customers want,” he said.
The 3K Belia Bestari training course organised by the State Youth Department was attended by 55 participants comprising 24 males and 31 females.
The six fields of trainings were tailoring, automotive, beautician, bakery, saloon and laundry.
State Youth Director Mohd Mazlan Anis in his speech said that was the third programme being organised by the department.
The participants, he said, would be put on job placement with the respective franchisors for a period of six months.
