Libya: NATO's African War The Role of US Africa Command (AFRICOM)

Sarawak BN upholds power-sharing concept : Daud Rahman

BPO
Posted on March 29, 2011, Tuesday
KUCHING: State Barisan Nasional (BN) strongly believes in its power-sharing concept.
Therefore, Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) which is allocated 35 out of the 71 state seats in Sarawak could not form the government even if it wins all seats alone in the April 16 state election.
PBB and BN still needs its partners, Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS), Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party (SPDP), Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) and Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) to win their respective seats to secure a strong BN government.
“We just let PBB have 35 seats as indicated by the chief minister. We do not want to look dominant because we facilitate the concept of Barisan Nasional. We believe in power sharing among partners,” said PBB incumbent for Tupong Datuk Daud Abdul Rahman on Sunday.

The White Devil

Written by  Iskandar Dzulkarnain, Malaysia Chronicle

Sarawak is the largest state in Malaysia. It has oil and full of other natural resources. It also has lots and lots of land. With the longest river in Malaysia and the oldest rainforest in the world, Sarawak is world famous for its jungle, flora and fauna. The land of the Hornbills, this grotesque oversized winged creatures, that looks more like prehistoric feathered beasts than the dainty birds we all know. Many have grown to love this majestic creatures hovering above the skies of Sarawak.
Known lovingly as the White Rajah, this Malaysian Maverick Chief Minister Mahmud Taib has been at the forefront of Sarawak Politics for the last 40 years. A suave, shrewd personality, holding the Portfolio of Chief Minister, Finance Minister and State Planning and Resource Management Minister is a life-size celebrity in his own right. This bespectacled, snowy white haired, thin moustache silhouette cannot be mistaken, with a shining aura around him, has kept the people of Sarawak spellbound.
His charisma has not dimmed in 40 years. And behind the suave, cool demeanour, lives a fighter that makes him stands out above the rest. A member of the billionaires club, no doubt. A high flyer, and globe trotter, his well known personality has made headlines around the world. For 40 years he gave his heart and soul for the betterment of Sarawak.

His recent marriage made the headlines with much fanfare. A Middle Eastern beauty with model like looks, reminded many of the Arabian Nights. It has caused Malaysians to swoon, salivate and daydream. The lavish wedding ceremony with the bride clad in rubies and diamond, was beamed around the world much to the delight of everyone. Where most people just daydream, the White Devil has gone out and did it. Now everyone knows that beneath that frail silhouette, lays a body as strong as a horse, while others like him are in the throngs of impotency.

Road to link southmost tip of Sarawak planned

BPO
by Geryl Ogilvy Ruekeith. Posted on March 15, 2011, TuesdayLUNDU: It may not happen in the 10th Malaysia Plan, but the people of Pulau Serabang and Teluk Melano situated at the furthest tip of south Sarawak can expect a proper road connectivity in a few years’ time.
Special Advisor in the Chief Minister’s Department Tan Sri Datuk Amar Adenan Satem said that the project, when approved, would see the road connected from Kpg Pueh passing through Samunsam Wildlife Sanctuary. The project is part of a proposal to connect all the villages in the Sematan-Lundu area with a road.
“At the moment, only two villages are still left behind due to the distance, which are Pulau Serabang and Teluk Melano. Existing road is only up to the Kpg Pueh youth camp. From this area up to Kpg Datu there is only a small road wide enough for motorcycles.
“This is why I have applied for a project to build a proper road. I have spoken to the relevant authorities so that the road would reach the 1,000 or so Serabang-Melano population. Now we could only wait for the decision,” added the Tanjung Datu assemblyman to reporters after the Tanjung Datu minor rural project (MRP) grant presentation ceremony held at the Lundu district office library hall here on Sunday.
