Celcom to help raise funds for SJK Chung Hua No. 1

KUCHING: Celcom Axiata Berhad will help Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (SJK) Chung Hua No. 1 raise funds for the school’s extension project.
Celcom Axiata Berhad Sarawak’s general manager Doris Ting told a press conference yesterday, that the company is always looking forward to contribute towards children’s education.
“Celcom will always find ways through our various products and telecommunication service to help the society, especially children’s education. The younger generation is our future generation,” she said.
Also present was the chairman of the management committee of Chung Hua Primary School No. 1 to No. 6, Dr Chou Chii Ming.
Dr Chou explained that the purpose of the project was to accommodate the increasing number of pupils, adding that they are targeting to raise
RM2 million.
“We will build a new school block consisting of 25 rooms, including teachers’ office, a hall, a computer room, kindergarten facilities and classrooms,” he said.
The fund raising campaign will take three months, and throughout this period, Celcom will be giving out redemption voucher to teachers and parents for every RM100 collected for the project.
The voucher will enable them to receive exclusive student prepaid pack SOX worth RM20.
These vouchers can be redeemed at selected dealers in the city such as Summit Intercity in Wisma Satok, Boulevard shopping mall, Kuching International Airport, Guaniek Sales and Services in Nanas Road, Riverside shopping complex and Sarawak Plaza. The vouchers’ expiry date is on May 13.
