Saberkas members want Taib to continue serving

MIRI: Some 190,000 Saberkas members throughout the state voiced their strong and unwavering support for Pehin Sri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud to continue lead Sarawak Speaking on behalf of members of the state premier youth organisation, Saberkas president Datuk Amar Abang Haji Johari Tun Openg said Taib’s leadership was still relevant because of his vast experience in leading the state to achieve great social and economic development, including education and sports.

“Pehin Sri is a leader of the highest calibre who has led the state to rapid pace of development in the aspects of infrastructure, social, economic, education and sports,” Johari told a press conference.

He said all Saberkas members wanted Taib to stand during the next state election and stay as PBB president and the Chief Minister.

People nowadays could enjoy freedom, live in harmony with all communities besides enjoying the higher living standard under Taib’s leadership, he added.

He stressed that Taib not only had the ability to develop Sarawak, but also the ability to address the political situation and make the state the bastion of the Barisan Nasional.

Johari said the Chief Minister had changed the political pattern in Sarawak not only with physical development but also the mindset of the people so that they would know what development was all about.

He said that based on Taib’s leadership skills for the past 29 years, the Prime Minister had the confidence in him to be able to continue to lead Sarawak.
