KUCHING: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) will hold a Facebook competition next month to encourage more branches to embrace the social media to organise their activities.
Its Youth Information Chief Abdul Aziz Adenan said the decision to hold the competition was mainly due to the mushrooming of facebook users among the party branches.
“The party is very glad to see the mushrooming of facebook among the party branches. This is a healthy development because it shows that PBB branches are embracing the social media on their own accord.” “We at the New Media Unit (UMB) would like to encourage and enhance this further by organising a facebook competition with prizes such as laptops, digital camcorders and digital cameras,” he said, adding that UMB is the organiser for the contest.
More information on the competition may be acquired by registering as friend of the UMB PBB Facebook.
The last day to register for the competition is on Sept 1.
I wonder what are they looking for to be a PBB Facebook champion? Despite that, this is a good way to promote the social network to be included into the campaign and membership drive. I wish there is a link somewhere to apply to become PBB members on the internet and I am sure more will follow and become a member if the application form is online.
