BN govt always has the people at heart : Muhammad Ali

KOTA SAMARAHAN: The Barisan Nasional (BN) government always views seriously any problem faced by the people in the country so that they will live comfortably.

Muara Tuang State Assemblyman Dato Ser i Haji Mohamad Ali Mahmud said the government had been constantly trying to provide comfort to the people by improving the infrastructure facilities, especially in rural areas.

According to Mohamad Ali, the implementation of infrastructure projects is always the priority of the government to improve the standard of living of the people.

He said Sarawak was a big area with difficult terrains and to bring development to the rural community was not an easy task.

“However, this has never been a constraint on the government to continue to develop infrastructure facilities for the people because it is the government for the people,” he said during the presentation of a cheque to Darul Malihah Surau in Kampung Bukit Berangan near here, yesterday.

“The present development enjoyed by the people is the result of the efforts of the state government to develop Sarawak since the past 30 years and make Sarawak the third most developed state in the country.

“This is possible due to the people’s strong support for the state BN government under the leadership of Chief Minister Pehin Sri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud,” pointed out Mohamad Ali.

He was confident that Muara Tuang constituents would continue to lend strong support to the BN in the next state election.

Later, Mohamad Ali presented a Minor Rural Project (MRP) grant of RM30,000 to Darul Malihah Surau committee for the repair of the surau.

He also announced federal allocations of RM100,000 for the upgrading of the drainage system at Kampung Bukit Berangan and RM 150,000 for the upgrading of the drainage system at Kampung Sungai Pendam.

Also present at the event were Deputy Samarahan Resident Upang Abdullah, Muara Tuang PBB Deputy Chief Hamzah Haji Ibrahim and Youth Chief Sarkawi Suhaili.

  1. That is what an elected YBs for - to serve or to be the servant of the rakyat who elect them and not otherwise - to be look up-on and to be served by rakyat! This is the time for all YBs to seriously changed their outlook and be round the people not at election time only but always when time permits. Once a month for major areas and bi-monthly for smaller area BUT make their visit meaningful, objective and solving urgent issues for short term or long term basis.
