KUALA LUMPUR: Chief Minister Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud is inspired as to when to hold the impending state election.“He has got inspiration. He is inspired now,” Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak told reporters after chairing the Barisan Nasional (BN) supreme council meeting at Menara Dato Onn, here, Friday night.
Najib was responding to questions on whether the upcoming event to be held in Sarawak were signals that the state election is around the corner.
Earlier, Najib said Sarawak would hold its state BN Convention on March 5, adding that he and other BN top leaders were also scheduled to visit the state in the middle of next month.
“I have also been scheduled to visit Sarawak again in the middle of March, where we will go down in numbers together with the BN leaders during the visit,” he said.
Meanwhile, speculation is rife that the Sarawak State Assembly might be dissolved in a week’s time and the state election, which is due in July this year, be held by the third week of March.
