Taib, wife begin Sibu CNY visits with grand dinner

SIBU: Chief Minister Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and his wife Puan Sri Ragad Kurdi Taib started their Chinese New Year visits here with a grand dinner hosted by KTS Group of Companies managing director Dato Henry Lau and family.
The dinner was held at Lau’s residence in Abang Haji Openg Road on Tuesday.
Taib and Ragad were greeted on arrival by Henry Lau and his wife Datin Wendy, his mother Datin Sri
Wong Suk Ting, his brother Temenggong Vincent Lau, his daughter’s father-in-law Deputy Minister of Information, Communication and Culture Datuk Joseph Salang and other family members.
Other guests included Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Alfred Jabu, Second Finance Minister Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh and his wife Datin Sri Pauline Leong, Land Development Minister Tan Sri Dr James Masing, Second Minister of Planning and Resource Management Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan and his wife Datuk Dayang Morliah Awang Daud.
Assistant Minister of Public Health Dr Jerip Susil, Nangka assemblyman Dr Annuar Rapaee, Temenggong Datuk Wan Hamid Edruce and his wife Datin Sharifah Zaidah Syed Abdul Aziz, entrepreneur Datuk Mohd Tufail Mahmud and his wife Datin Suhing Bujang, Lanang MP Datuk Tiong Thai King and Sibu Resident Sim Kok Kee were also present.
The joyous and colourful celebration ended at 10pm.
