KUCHING: The Youth wing of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) is glad that the Bersih 2.0 held in Kuala Lumpur last Saturday has no repercussion on the state.
Its information chief Abdul Aziz Adenan said  Sarawakians were peace loving people and did not like to cause trouble for their community.
“We are thankful that Sarawak was spared from the chaos caused by the illegal rally in Kuala Lumpur recently. We hope that Pakatan Rakyat street politics would not be brought to Sarawak,” he said.
Aziz also praised the police for their handling of the rally in Kuala Lumpur saying, “I wish to say congratulation and thanks to the police KL contingent for handling the provocation by Bersih 2.0 with wisdom and patience.”
He added that the organisers of Bersih insulted the people by claiming that the rally was to call for clean and fair elections when the real intention was to smear the image of the country in the eyes of the international community.
“The opposition is trying to make the rakyat believe that creating chaos through illegal public rallies, is part of a perfect democratic system.”
He hoped the opposition would not cause chaos in the state in the name of fair elections and democracy and praised the people in the state for not accepting their brand of politics .
“Pehin Sri (Abdul Taib Mahmud) has always said that Sarawakians are peace-loving people.  Therefore we reject opposition politics of incitement and chaos”, he said.
“We fully agree and support the Prime Minister’s (Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak) assertion that the silent majority is strong.  Just because we are silent doesn’t mean we aren’t strong,” he said.
