KUCHING: Over 100 youths got the opportunity to get up close and personal with Chief Minister Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud during dialogue sessions organised by Ouryouth.my recently.
During the three-day closed door sessions, groups of over 30 participants comprising university students, lecturers, professionals and entrepreneurs asked questions and listened to advice from the chief minister.
Organising chairman Dato Patrick Liew said the dialogue sessions were the fifth to be organised by Ouryouth.my since its launch in September last year.
Themed ‘Youth the Generation of Tomorrow’ the dialogue was for youths to air their views.
“Our aim is to be the bridge between the young generation and our Right Honourable Pehin Sri Chief Minister to discuss and seek advice on youth-related issues,” he said in a statement issued here yesterday.
Among the subjects discussed were amenities, public facilities and business opportunities for youths, vision for Kuching city and other matters close to their hearts.
Plans for more such dialogues with top leaders in the state are in the pipeline, he said.
The chief minister was relaxed as he shared some jokes and interesting encounters in his many years in politics and government administration.
Taib said such dialogue sessions enabled him to know the interests and needs of youths in the state.
