KUCHING: Dewan Usahawan Bumiputera Sarawak (DUBS) fully supports the calls on Chief Minister Pehin Seri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud not to give in to certain quarters and political analysts that it is time for him to step down as Chief Minister and PBB president.

Its president Datu Haji Abang Helmi Ikhwan said Taib was still needed as the political stability in the nation depended on the political conditions in Sarawak.

He pointed out that the oppositions’ strategy was to destabilise the political situation and position of the Bumiputeras in Sarawak and country in general.

He added that the result of the recent Sibu parliamentary by-election indicated that the support from the Malay community and other Bumiputera communities was still high at 75 percent.
