Breaking News - YAB Pehin Sri nasihat Larry Sng untuk jangan ketuai SWP

Yang Amat Berhormat Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Bin Mahmud telah membuang spekulasi bahawa beliau menyokong Sarawak Workers Party apabila mendedahkan, "He did inform me that he might have to take up a political post in a new party.  I tried to dissuade him because a young man like him will probably find a better opportunity once the political situation among the Chinese settles down."

Sekaligus YAB Pehin Sri menyangkal khabar-khabar angin bahawa beliau mahu 'destabilize' parti komponen PRS.

Mengenai perletakan jawatan Larry Sng sebagai penasihat belie, beliau berkata, "That is his (Sng) intention, actually.  Its too quick a decision."

Mengenai samada SWP adalah BN 'friendly' YAB Pehin Sri berkata, "Show the friendliness in the way you campaign.  But still, if our (Barisan Nasional) seats are challenged (by SWP), we have to fight back."

Kenyataan YAB Pehin Sri yang juga Pengerusi Barisan Nasional Sarawak membuat tanda tanya samada SWP benar-benar BN 'friendly'.

YB Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Alfred Jabu tegur DAP kerana rasis menekan bahasa Iban dan mahukan Iban kena/makan racun - DUN 23 Mei

Tuan Speaker, I have heard and followed very closely the speeches made by
Ahli-ahli Yang Berhormat from DAP at this Dewan and analyzing from the trend of the
past year, past many years including this sitting, Ahli-Ahli Pembangkang especially from

37

BELUM DISUNTING

23 MEI 2012

DAP never can agree even though how good the programme for the people for the sake
of the rakyat that had been implemented by the department. To make up for their

number because Barisan Nasional.s Ahli Dewan Undangan Negeri represent 77.5%

more than 2/3 majority here. To make for this small number, I observed that, I think I am
right to say that over the years DAP want to make up for the small number, they made
loud noise even to the extent that they are habitual liar in this Dewan, Ahli Yang
Berhormat for Bukit Assek who has got record, they go on two occasions, where he
offended Yang Berhormat, then Datuk Peter Chin and Datuk Amar Dr. George Chan
and then Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Datuk Wong Soon Kai, they have twice, also there is a
record, to prove this record because they suppressed and oppressed the dignity of this
Dewan.

Tuan Speaker, I read here with concern Ahli Yang Berhormat from DAP cannot
May, 2012, I read, said;
concerned for
hide their oppressive and suppressive attitude towards the NCR landowners especially
to those in the interior the where majority of them happened to be Dayak communities.
This is clearly reflected by the remark made by Ahli Yang Berhormat for Repok who is in
speech, said quote page 73 of Hansard dated 16th “Labelling
and usage on insecticide and we decide should be written in three languages, that is
Bahasa Malaysia, English and Chinese”. What is his excluding this
labelling using any of the Dayak language?

communist terrorist led by Chin Peng during the emergency. The reburial operation “Mai
Pulai” of 21 Iban trackers and Sarawak Rangers was appreciated with a full honour in
ceremony by Yang Amat Berhormat Pehin Sri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud, Chief Minister
on 27th July.

Tuan Speaker: Are you taking, Ahli Yang Berhormat?
Timbalan Ketua Menteri dan Menteri Pembangunan
Pemodenan Pertanian (Y.B. Datuk Patinggi Tan
Numpang): This, I go on. Let me explain. They can clarify later on. Ahli Yang Berhormat
for Repok has conveniently forgotten to include the element of Dayak or Iban language
to be used in this label of weedicide and insecticide. Thus suppressing and oppressing
the opportunity of the entire Dayak community from understanding the danger and
hazard related to the such … (Inaudible) in so doing, in so doing, you keep quiet first.
In so doing DAP Ahli Yang Berhormat for Repok has completely suppressed and
oppressed and deny the opportunity of the Dayak who represent more than 50 percent
of total population of Sarawak. The majority of them are farmers of understanding of the
hazard related to insecticide. As a consequence of this Ahli Yang Berhormat for Repok
cannot run away from the fact that he has that very selfish attitude in deny the usage of
Iban or Dayak language on the label warning the farmers and uses of weedicide and
insecticide. Such oppressive and suppressive attitude against opportunities had become
the political culture of DAP and this certainly have offended NCR landowners resulting in
DAP being rejected and dejected by the Government.
Yang Amat Berhormat Pehin Sri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud

Tuan Speaker, some of the Dayak farmers even commented, understandably

Y.B. for Repok is a DAP Medical Doctor. It is remark suggested that the Chinese
farmers can understand the hazard of weedicide and insecticide but not the Dayak
farmers because it does not support the usage of Dayak language on the label
indicating hazard of weedicide and insecticide. The Dayak farmers may fall sick as a
result of using this weedicide and not understanding fully the hazard of insecticide

POLITICAL RESPONSES
Jangan Lawan Tauke (Do Not Fight the Boss)
Finally, Tuan Speaker, I would like to respond to the issue raised by Ahli Yang
Berhormat for Dudong, Ahli Yang Berhormat for Kota Sentosa, Ahli Yang Berhormat for
Bukit Assek and Ahli Yang Berhormat for Meluan on the phraseology of “Jangan Lawan
Tauke”, or in English its simply means “Do Not Fight the Boss”. The argument on this
phraseology is whether a polemic exercise “the go to nowhere to me” but since some
members of the opposition as hooked on these phrase I shall deal with it in some lane.
While I am having this floor I would like to advise member of the opposition, I
was about to say especially member for Bukit Assek but he is not here. Please do not
speak for the sake of speaking, do not stand for the sake of standing. Please listen. May
be along the way you may learn something new.
Tuan Speaker, I have to do my refill, I have to do my refill. Mesti isi minyak dulu
lah.
Tuan Speaker: Honourable Minister I think you better address the chair. So there is no
direct obligation and any Members of Opposition who want to raise that is the proper
procedure.
Menteri Kemajuan Tanah (Y.B. Tan Sri Dr. James Jemut anak Masing): Thank you,
Tuan Speaker. Sorry, I was isi minyak dulu, I lupa tadi, thank you. Tuan Speaker, I want
Members of the Opposition to realize, once and for all, that Ahli Yang Berhormat from
this side of the House understand the interplay of power between the voters, elected
representatives and the administrators; administrators in this case refer to the Ministers
or Government of the day. Members of the opposition especially those from DAP,
cannot pretend to be ignorant of the consequences of fighting the boss; nor can they
claim to be non participants of this complex inter play of power within the practices of
parliamentary democracy.

When I hear this phrase of Do not Fight the Boss (Jangan Lawan Tauke),I
cannot help thinking of Senator Tunku Abdul Aziz Tunku Ibrahim, a very well respected
Malay politician, who was until a few days ago, a DAP National Vice-Chairman. He
fought the boss in DAP by daring to be different. Consequently, he was reprimanded.
Being a man of high integrity, he could not stand it and finally quit. There is also a case
of a State Assemblyman of Bentayan in Johor, YB Gwee Tiong Hiang, who fought the

Boss and was suspended for 6 months. And there is also another case of six, keep quite
first, please. And there is another case of six DAP branch leaders from Bentayan
Branch, (namely: Lim Kem Wat, Khoo Ah Huat, Tay Kee Yan, Gwee Suh Mei, excuse
my pronounciation, most of them are Chinese by the way, Stephen Lim Yong How and
Teo Choon Sieng) also from Johor who were suspended for two years for fighting the
boss.

Closer to home, Tuan Speaker, there is also a case of the former state
assemblyman of Batu Lintang, Voon Lee Shan, who dared to be different. And he was
not nominated to stand. My colleague, since DAP has been quite, please, give the floor
first. There are strings of credible elected representatives from the opposition who dared

to be different and were either sacked from the party or forced to quit in disgust.

Menteri Muda Adat Bumiputera dan Hal Ehwal Penan dan Menteri Muda Kerajaan
Tempatan (Y.B.

sekolah rendah. Manakala di sekolah menengah, terdapat 14,849 orang guru. Pada
tahun 2012, tiada lagi lantikan guru sandaran ataupun guru sementara untuk mengisi
kekosongan hakiki. Sebaliknya pada tahun 2012, Kementerian Pelajaran Malaysia
melantik guru interim dulu dipanggil guru sementara.

Terima kasih.

Bar Council anak syarikat milik penuh DAP untuk menghancurkan institusi Polis?

Dr M opens fire on the Bar

Responding to their criticism of the police, the former premier says the lawyers should be tasked with maintaining security during the next violent protest.
PETALING JAYA: Former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad has criticised the Malaysian Bar for taking the police to task for its reaction to the Bersih 3.0 rally last month.
Defending the police, he said the men in blue had no choice but to use force in order to stop, what he termed as hooliganism.
In future, Mahathir suggested that the Bar Council be tasked with keeping peace and order during violent demonstrations and riots.
“I am sure Bersih 4.0 [under the Bar Council's watch] will be free of violence as the demonstrators would not be stopped from breaking rules and laws,” he said in his latest blog posting.
Yesterday, the Bar passed a resolution during its extraordinary general meeting condemning the police for using excessive force during the rally.
The lawyers also demanded a public apology from Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein and the Inspector-General of Police Ismail Omar.
Noting that the police had restrained themselves, Mahathir said in other countries, the protesters could have been shot.
‘What are they supposed to do?’
Recounting what had transpired on April 28, the former premier asked: “What are the police supposed to do?”
“Allow the hooligans to do what they like? Accept being kicked by the hooligans? Accept having their patrol cars being smashed and overturned?” he said.
Mahathir said there were supposedly 250,000 protesters who took to the streets, noting that the figure was 250 times more than that of the police, and they were violent.
“They broke the barriers set up by City Hall to stop them from going into Dataran Merdeka. From the video clips and pictures the demonstrators not only broke the barriers but attacked, literally attacked the police who were tasked to keep the demonstrators from breaking the barriers.
“They chased police cars, shattered the windscreen and overturned it. They kicked a policeman who had fallen on the ground,” he said, adding that the police was forced to retaliate.
“They [the police] cannot just stand by and do nothing or allow themselves to be beaten up or allow public property to be damaged. To prevent this violence they need to use force,” he said.
‘We owe the police force’
According to Mahathir, Malaysians owed much to their police force.
The police, he added, might not be a perfect force but Malaysians felt safe and secure when they were around.
“How would we like to do away with the police altogether? How would we fare if the police are not allowed to use force against their assailants?
“I would like to see what members of the Bar Council would do if people kick them, smash their car windscreens and overturn them. They would be running to report to the police. When the police are assaulted who do they run to?” he asked.

Bar Council's democratic pretensions

.
TRIPPING THEMSELVES: Bar censors earlier report of anti-police taunts
Hang on! What happened to this part of the Bar's 30-page interim report that stated: "...rally participants jeered police officers as trash but the police officers ignored the taunts. Around 12pm to 1pm, participants at the intersection of Jalan Tun Perak, Jalan TAR and Jalan Raja, booed and jeered at police officers but there was no retaliation by the police. Some police officers took pictures of the crowd surrounding them."
Azmi Anshar, New Straits Times
THE hindsight to be learnt from the farcical circus called Bersih 3.0 is manifold but one daunting aspect is this: the right to peaceful assembly is now sacrosanct (try saying that pre-2009) but the right to location to stage the peaceful assembly is still a privilege to be earned and subject to security concerns.
Previously, a police permit had to be acquired to assemble in huge numbers. Now, it is a given that permission will be granted, thanks to the beneficence of recently-enacted Peaceful Assembly Act.
But what is not an accomplished fact is right to location: Dataran Merdeka was, for historical and cultural reasons, out of bounds, Stadium Merdeka was offered but quickly rebuffed, only because a minority protest like Bersih realised they cannot fill up the stadium, thus exposing their wildly exaggerated claims of a six-figure attendance.
The civil disagreement against Bersih's inevitable mob violence, the one frankly postulated by Tunku Aziz Tunku Ibrahim, the "towering" Malaysian hyped when he joined the DAP post-2008 general election, was precise and prescient two days before the rally.
But the elderly DAP vice-chairman was predictably and viciously demonised by the democratically-challenged elements of the "Democratic" Action Party, his senatorship's three-year extension rudely scuttled and his good standing -- in the eyes of these DAP supplicants -- shredded.
Bersih co-chairman Datuk Ambiga Sreenevasan was also handed a sobering lesson that right to location is a privilege to be earned. In the epilogue of April 28's mob violence, traders fretting over financial losses demonstrated outside the Bersih co-chairman's leafy Bukit Damansara home, giving away burgers while conducting an abject lesson on how street demonstrations can go ugly.
Instead of graciously accepting the tit-for-tat as the democrat that she is, Ambiga whined that her privacy was invaded and her political supporters grumbled that the burger-selling skit was unlawful. Exactamundo!
What, you can't get a delicious irony when you see one, especially one slapped before your face? Ambiga learnt that she and her ilk gagged silly when a dose of their own medicine is shoved down their throats. You can't even eat your own dog food.
And what about the Malaysian Bar's EGM on Friday? The stunt where 939 of 1,270 members (some reports claimed chambering students mingled and might have voted) approved a resolution that basically disparaged the police for doing their job?
Again, the so-called learned lawyers tripped on themselves, ignoring, or rather, censoring a crucial part of their 30-page interim report released last week on mob-against-police violence.
In that EGM, the 939 Bar members voted a resolution that fulminated on police's application of water cannon and tear gas to control a savage-induced mob, claiming that the cops did not allow the mob sufficient time to disperse in an orderly fashion.
This part was cynically and boorishly omitted. In its place is this: "The police were initially restrained. However, this changed at approximately 3:00 pm, when there was a breach of the perimeter barriers set up at the junction of Jalan Tun Perak and Jalan Raja."
Wait a minute. The Bar actually admitted that there was a perimeter breach but conveniently declined to elaborate on the dynamics of the breach. Why? Because it would render dubious their hoary foaming denunciation of the police. Here's the provision they could have inserted in the resolution: "On the strength of video evidence that pointed to yellow-clad Parti Keadilan Rakyat leaders -- shepherded by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim -- who were seen breaching the security barrier and engaging in an in-your-face, no-holds-barred confrontation with police."
We are resigned to the fact that the Bar Council is a parody of itself, the organisation hustling hysterical proclamations of outrage but ignoring circumspect and governance (jeers and machinations abound when conscientious Bar members tried to voice a protest in the EGM).
Rather than engage in mob violence, the Bar engages in mob coercion, railroading the resolution and committing the very peccancy it usually unloads on lawmakers in the Dewan Rakyat.
The Bar Council as a neutral watchdog is a silly pretext. They pre-meditated themselves as Bersih's co-conspirators and gladly act as amplifiers for opposition infamy.
Nobody's saying the Bar can't launch an all-out attack on the government -- that incendiary resolution reflects Malaysia's burgeoning democracy -- but don't pretend to be the Atlas of democracy.
Proclaim yourself as revolutionaries determined to demean the government using legal variables, loopholes and manoeuvres consonant to the opposition’s desperate cause.
Then you’ll get more people wanting to become lawyers wanting to aggrandise themselves as politicians.
Now comes the overarching hindsight, a recurring pattern emerges in all this Bersih-Bar Council-opposition parties’ horseplay: it all points to one man’s fantastical obsession to fulfil his destiny to become prime minister.
But who cares if law-breaking, defiance of governance, tacit approval of violence and general bedlam is the way to go. Anwar won’t.
